The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men’s organization dedicated to community service and providing relief to the disadvantaged. More than 140 years ago, the Knights were formed as a social safety net for widows and orphans of Connecticut’s large Irish population. From it’s beginning, as a group of concerned men from a small local parish, the Knights have grown into an international presence with well over two million members. Our mission remains essentially the same as it was at conception; we are dedicated to supporting and encouraging youth to become morally strong and socially aware contributing members of society and to provide help and relief to those in need.
